Phuket Beaches

Patong Beach
The most poignant symbols of development and crowded beach in Phuket. This is the busiest area of great concentration of nightlife activities, tourist hub, restaurant and shops. For this naughty beach of 3 kms, you always find beautiful white sand and clear water in the lap of crescent nature. The deck chairs and umbrellas are presented almost all around the beaches, offering an ideal place to relax and soak up the sun with the pleasantly cool sea breeze. In brief, there are a large member of shops and nightlife hubs, as well as other entertainment and recreational activities. Clearly, if you are looking for a remote gateway, you won't find it in Patong.

Rawai Beach
Rawai Beach is located on the south-eastern side of Phuket. Although beach in not a good idea for swimming due to shallow water many long tails anchored off the shore, it is popular and a nice destination to picnic under the shade of big trees and plenty of seafood restaurants can be found here. There is a sea-gypsy village located on the eastern end of the beach which has a small fish market. Besides, you can find a long-tail boat service here to take you out to the smaller surrounding islands.

Nai Harn Beach
Near Phuket southernmost tip is picturesque and stunning Nai Harn Beach. Accommodation here is limited but the beach is easy to get to from Kata and Karon. This fronts a loveliest lagoon that is either faced to the clear water or closed off by a sandy bunger, depending on the season. A small temple relatively keeps the Nai Harn undeveloped, while Le Meridien Phuket Yacht Club is set its striking position on the northern side. You cal always find the upmarket housing development and a few local cuisine and convenient stores, just 100 metres off the beach.

Kata Beach
A surfer's paradise on the stunning bay, lies on the southern part of the Karon Beach, Phuket. It offers clear crystal waters, pure sands, beautiful scenery, and relaxed atmosphere with both northern and southern ends with a few hotels and resorts. Along the beach is fairly small size, Kata is the great idea for family vacation or couple holiday. There are quite a a number of shops, restaurants and pubs around Kata Centre. if you are planning a trip to Phuket - Thailand, Kata is perhaps the best compromise between charming nature and lovely atmosphere.
Note that don't miss the King's Cup Regatta if you are planning to Phuket on December.

Karon Beach
Karon is a vibrant beach town on south of Patong Beach Phuket. With the long array of powdery white sand and never feels overcrowded, many tourist choose here instead of Patong as accommodation, economy guesthouses, and restaurants are plenty. Besides, the beach is always fairly quiet comparing to Patong.

Kamala Beach
It takes a 10-minute drive between Patong Beach to Kamala Beach in Phuket. One of the most picturesque beach tucked in a valley and a well-enclosed bay to fishing villages and tropical rain forested views. Scenery is great, water is clear and sand is white. Kamala is home of the prime night attraction, Phuket FantaSea entertainment complex on the northern end. This is where you can enjoy a delicious dinner and vibrant nightly stage performance.

Laem Singh Cape Beach
The name means Lion Point in English in this case, Laem Sing
This scenic Laem Sing Beach is a very small secluded beach located near Surin Beach with rocky cape surrounded. To reach this identification beach, visitors can ask permission to cut through a private road, or take a detour along the hillside to the shore.

Bang Tao Beach

People still earn their living by fishing, farming and rubber tapping. The good sea breeze makes Bang Tao Beach very popular for windsurfing and sailing, where the major competition is held yearly. there are many dining options you can enjoy with several cuisines.

Nai Yang Beach
Nai Yang is a beautiful, quiet beach that is very different from the other beaches, very famous among local. Here the quite beach is backed by tall casuarinas trees and foreast which is part of Sirinath National Park, and Olive Sea Turtle Sanctuary. With the very mild current and relax environments, here is an idea for a nice peaceful place to rest under the sun or take in a swim.

Mai Khao Beach
This is the most northern of Phuket's beaches, just off the airport. You can find the magnificently long and endless stretch of power beach. Beach has no tourist facilities, with the exception of the JW Marriott Resort. Phuket Town is far away from this beach.

Cape Panwa
Ideal for visitors seeking to get away from it all, journey to peace and relaxation. Cape Panwa is located to the Phuketฏs southern tip where lush hills and tropical gardens make spectacular views of the Andaman Sea.

Apart from a rustic accommodation there is very little tourist facilities here. However, the area is more likely to increase the high-end property developments. A superb spot for family vacation seeking quite holiday. Phuket City is not too far away.

Kata Noi Beach
This cozy little bay is found at the end of a dead-end road, just a few minutes' drive over the hill from Kata beach .There's not much to do in Kata Noi apart from admiring the wonderful scenery, which is precisely the point of coming here.Relax, take a walk along the soft sands, snorkel or swim. It's long been a popular spot for surfers in the monsoon season of May to October, though swimming can be dangerous during this period.

Surin Beach
Naturally beautiful Surin is known as 'Millionaires Row' due the the top-end celebrity haunts Amanpuri, Twinpalms and The Chedi amongst the luxury resorts there, as well as the many US$ 1 million+ houses that sit proudly on top of the hills overlooking the Andaman Sea.

Although popular with tourists it's not a busy resort town, more like a coastal village. Fine white sand and turquoise water has ensured that the picturesque beach is very popular with tourists and Thais alike. The whole area is awash with high end hotels and housing which in turn has created opportunities for high end restaurants and wine bars.

Yanui Beach
Ya Nui lies in the shadow of two of Phuket's loveliest viewpoints; Phrom Thep and the viewpoint featuring large white windmill. It's a charming little cove featuring good snorkeling, kayaking and fishing. During high season there is a line of sun loungers for hire (200 baht a set) as well as a stand that rents out masks, fins, kayaks and body boards for very reasonable price.

Laem Ka Beach
The only eastern-facing beach in the south of Phuket that offers good swimming and it's a total full-on Thai experience. This sheltered, 150 metre long, boulder-framed beach is the ideal picnic spot as from midday on it is shady and cool. For many locals it offers the opportunity to chat away Sunday afternoon while their children splash around in Laem Ka's safe and blue waters just metres away.

Paradise Beach ( Near patong beach )
Paradise Beach will surprise you. For a start, it's stunningly beautiful; one of the most attractive of the many wonderful beaches Phuket has to offer. It also features safe swimming all year round. It's compact and has a great view right across Patong Bay. The beach itself is barely 150 metres long and there is another small beach next to it, reached by a path through the rocks.

Emerald Beach ( Tri Trang Beach ) near patong beach
Snuggled into the headland south of Patong, Emerald Beach ('Hat Tri Tra' in Thai) is the perfect place for sun lovers and those who are dead serious about going for the maximum tan. There is a long line of northern-facing sunbeds along this 500-metre beach and it is popular with guests from the nearby Merlin Beach Resort, being the nearest large beach to it.

Freedom Beach
Freedom is the most beautiful beach in Phuket with white soft sand, crystal clear water and the beach is kept in perfect order, no garbage here. It can't get any cleaner and the people that is running the beach make sure it stay so.

Freedom Beach is located in a cove south of Patong, at the foot of a lush green hill where sunbeds are placed under the palm trees and not directly on the beach itself, leaving the beach mostly empty with the exception of sun lovers like myself. Long tail boat from Patong Beach cost 1,500-2,000 baht, it all depends how many you are and your negotiations skills. The 6 km boat trip should take around 15 minutes.
